Azma’s Angels is a United Methodist Women’s circle that was started here at Bethel in 1997 by Susan Lester. The circle was named after Mrs. Azma Carroll, who was a much loved and active member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Our beloved Mrs. Carroll passed away in 1999. United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. As members of United Methodist Women, Azma’s Angels commit to prayers that we will grow and renew our relationship with God and others, that we will respond to human need through Bible Study, reflection, and actions that we will share our time and finances to global and community missions. Azma’s Angels are actively involved in our church. A few of our outreach missions include Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child), Ukraine Orphanage Mission, CLC African Mission. Our local missions include visiting shut-ins and sick members with an “angel” arrangement or “angel” basket as well as Thanksgiving Baskets, Helping Hands Food Pantry, Murphy Harpst Children’s Home, Shepherd’s Rest Ministries for Abused Women and Children, Souper Bowl Sunday for Missions, school supplies for needy children in Paulding County, “Warming Tree” with warm items for needy children in Paulding County, donations to the church for kitchen and / or church supplies, and providing Christmas to local needy families. Azma’s Angels invite you to
join us on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for a light dinner
followed by a special program. |
